Over the past year I have been on the look out for an application I can use to post my blog posts to WordPress (this blog) and others. The search is over as I have found an application that does everything I intend it to do.

  • Be easy to use and looks good
  • Provides a WYSIWYG editor
  • Allows to upload photo directly to blog or FTP
  • Not distracting with many customisable options
  • Allows for pinging

Below is a screen capture of Windows Live Writer running on my Samsung N310 Netbook – Where I do most of my blogging from as it’s convenient.

So far I have only used it to create a few posts but have not noticed any speed issues or crashes occurring. I will be using Windows Live Writer most of the time now and will write up a review of my final thoughts and experiences on using it.

To give it a go yourself, all you need to do is download Windows Live Essentials and make sure Live Writer is selected when installing.
